Calgary, Alberta – (July 6, 2017) – PRIZE MINING CORPORATION (“Prize” or the “Company”) (TSXV:PRZ) (MQSP:GR:FRANKFURT) is pleased to announce that Michael McPhie of Delta, British Columbia has been appointed as a director as of July 5th, 2017. Concurrent with his appointment, 400,000 stock options were granted to Michael McPhie. These options vest as to one-third thereof on the six, 12 and 18 month anniversaries of the date of grant and are exercisable at the price of $0.62 during the period ending on July 5, 2022.
In a career spanning more than 20 years, Michael has worked throughout Canada and globally as an executive in the mining and minerals industry and is a specialist in project development, project financing and mining related regulatory, permitting and governance issues. Michael currently serves as Executive Chairman of IDM Mining Ltd., Chairman and CEO (interim) of Independence Gold Ltd. and is the Founder and CEO of Falkirk Resource Consultants Ltd., a permitting and regulatory consulting firm affiliated with JDS Energy and Mining Ltd.
Michael was previously the founding CEO of Curis Resources Ltd., a copper development company that was taken over by Taseko Mines in 2014. He also served as a Director of Silver Quest Resources up until it was taken over by New Gold in 2012, a Director and Executive Vice President of Exeter Resource Corporation and CEO of the Mining Association of British Columbia (MABC). Michael is the recent past Chair of the Association for Mineral Exploration BC (AMEBC), past Chair of the Board of Governors of the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) and is a current board member of the MABC and the BC Business Council.
Michael earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Simon Fraser University, a Masters of Science degree from Royal Roads University and is a registered Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP).

The Company also announces that its annual general meeting of its shareholders will be held on August 29, 2017. The record date for the meeting is July 25, 2017
